Perthshire
History
Perthshire Brass was formed in 1978 by brass teacher Mr George Annan, to provide his pupils with a band to play in beyond the local authority provision. The band are a busy group, with an average of 35 - 40 performances a year, and they are led now by Mr Annan's son, George Annan who was handed the baton in 2010.
It's not just local concerts and contests they do, although they are plenty of them. Last year, Perthshire Brass went on their 15th international trip with a tour to their twin city, Aschaffenburg, Germany. 45 players enjoyed a fantastic experience, and are looking forward to returning in 2026. The band has a burgeoning junior band, Perthshire Youth Brass, under the baton of Willie McMullan. It is Willie who is leading Perthshire Brass to Cheltenham, and the players have really enjoyed working with him to prepare for this great experience.
