Beaumaris

History

Seindorf Beaumaris Band is based in the historic town of Beaumaris on the Isle of Anglesey. Formed in 1921 the band’s focus in the early years was to entertain the many tourists who visited the town’s famous castle and Victorian pier.

It was over 50 years before the Beaumaris & District Silver Band, as the band were known during the 1970s, took part in the National Championships of Great Britain but since that first contest, the Band has enjoyed great success with victories coming in the Fourth Section in 1991, Third Section in 1992, First Section in 2008 and the highlight of a fourth place finish in the Championship Section in 2011.

In September, Beaumaris will compete in the First Section of The National Championships of Great Britain. This will be the band’s fourth successive National Final having finished fourth in the Fourth Section in 2019, runners up in the Third Section in 2021 and third in the Second Section in 2022.
