Bathgate

History

The Bathgate Band is one of Scotland's oldest brass bands, with the first documented appearance being in 1842. The band places a great emphasis in supporting the local community and can regularly be seen at local engagements within the town and surrounding areas.

​As a competing band, they have the distinction of winning the National Championship of Great Britain (Second Section) in 1989 and again in 1997, as well as Second place at the 2017 (First Section) Finals. The band are also the current holders of the Scottish Challenge Shield.
