Aldbourne

History

Aldbourne Band is a long-established Brass Band based in the village of Aldbourne in Wiltshire, with roots dating back to 1860.

IIn recent years the band has enjoyed multiple successes on the contest and concert stage under their resident MD Glyn Williams. Last year (2022) was a memorable year for the band as they won the West of England Regional Championships qualifying for the National Brass Band Championship Finals at the Royal Albert Hall and came third at the British Open under Ivan Meylemans. 2023 builds on recent successes with the band qualifying again for the National Finals, competing at the British Open (both under the baton of Ivan Meylemans) and making its debut at Brass in Concert this year under Glyn Williams.

Off the contest stage the band has released a CD titled “Aldbourne Rejoicing” to celebrate its successes and ongoing vital support from its “Friends of Aldbourne Band”, as well as new concerts and their traditional summer concert series, forging new relationships with community banding.
