Flowers
History
The Flowers Band has had an eventful year, balancing national competitions and local concerts while showcasing both skill and versatility.
Their journey began with a strong performance at Brass in Concert, where their ‘Alice in Wonderland’ set earned them third place and a personal best score. Throughout December, the band displayed its diversity by accompanying Brett Baker on his solo CD “Light Fantastic” and performing a series of festive concerts across various locations.
The year 2024 brought more success, with Flowers winning the West of England Regional Championships and securing an invitation to the National Finals.
The band’s concerts spanned prestigious events like the Leeds International Concert Series, Newbury Spring Festival, and a performance at the Badminton Horse Trials, where the Queen was in attendance.
At the French Open Contest, they won multiple awards, including Best March and Best Soloist, followed by a gala concert for over 1,500 people.
After closing their summer engagements with performances at the Three Choirs Festival, the band took a brief break before starting the contest season.
In September, they achieved 2nd place at the British Open, earning an invitation to represent England at the 2026 European Championships. It’s been a remarkable year for Flowers Band.
