Rode Hall Silver

History

Rode Hall Silver Band is based in Scholar Green in Cheshire and contest in the North West area. The band was established in 1837 and has held a long association with the Rode Hall Estate. The band is deeply embedded within the local community and draws members of all ages from the surrounding towns and villages. The band rehearses twice weekly under the baton of MD Nigel Butler who has been raising the profile of the band since taking up the post in 2012.

The band has been going from strength to strength over the last decade and boast a senior band membership of over 30 players. Recent successes on the contest stage include 2nd and 3rd prizes at Wychavon Festival of Brass 2018 across 3rd and 4th sections respectively. In early 2019 the band took 2nd place at Brass at the Guild followed by another 2nd place at the North West Area Regional Championships. Most recently the band took the 4th section crown at Buxton Brass Band Festival and collected more silverware from the Tameside Whit Friday contests. As well contesting the band fulfils a varied programme of engagements throughout the year supporting community events and performing concerts.
The band is delighted to have qualified for the National Finals and very much look forward to representing the North West Area in 2019.
